STUDIO POLICIES
THE DETAILS ON HOW IT ALL WORKS
PAYMENT
Our students are required to pre-pay for lessons. Monthly tuition is to be paid by credit/debit card payment via AUTOPAY which you need to set up upon registering. This charge on your card takes place SEVEN DAYS before the 1st of the month. You can check for discrepancies on your account prior to then by viewing your Opus1 account anytime. There are no fees associated with the online payment. Payments are considered late if they are paid after the 10th of the month. Late payments are subject to a $25 late fee. If you are over a month late in paying tuition, the North Idaho Rock School may end your membership at the end of that month after trying to contact you. If the membership is ended, you are still responsible for any previous months’ tuition that is still unpaid.
Price Changes
As with most small businesses, sometimes there may be price changes in lesson costs. We will do our best to communicate with you at least 30 days in advance to any price increase. Price changes will normally occur on September 1 of the current year.
REFUNDS & WITHDRAWALS
There are no refunds for withdrawals, so please finish out the current month with lessons. North Idaho Rock School reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students without notice. In such a case, a monetary refund for unused lessons will be given. Please email or call us no later than the 15th of the month prior to you needing to stop lessons (Ex. call/email by August 15, to stop lessons as of Sept 1. )
MISSED LESSONS
(Private Lessons Only)
We allow makeups to be tracked and scheduled through Opus1. In order to be eligible for your makeup credit, cancellation must be completed 2 hours in advance on your lesson time via your Opus1 account. You must cancel via your Opus1 account in order to get the makeup credit. Last minute cancellations or no shows are not eligible for a makeup credit, regardless of illness or other emergency. We know it can be easier to give us a call, but sometimes we are away from the desk and are unable to grab the phone.
You are allowed 2 missed lessons per 6 month period (September- February, and then March-August). This does not include makeup credits given by the school.
When booking makeup lessons via your Opus1 account:
- Your teacher may not have time available to provide you with a makeup lesson, so you can wait until they have a lesson cancellation or you can have your makeup lesson with a different instructor who might have more availability, to be self booked through Opus1.
- Instead of calling our office, emailing or any other form of communication, students and parents will need to utilize Opus1 to cancel lessons.
- Student tuition is paid to reserve a weekly slot on the CALENDAR and as such, there are NO monetary refunds available.
- If you miss a scheduled make-up lesson, that lesson is forfeit as well. There are no makeups for makeups.
- If your teacher is sick or on vacation, a substitute teacher will be provided to you. If no substitute teachers are available, we will provide you another makeup credit to be used at a later date to be self booked through Opus1.
- For snow days and minor observed holidays, we will provide you with an additional makeup credit to be self booked through Opus1.
- If you choose to withdraw from the Rock School, any unused makeup credits will be forfeit 30 days after the last month of membership and no monetary refunds will be provided.
- If your child or you are sick, please do not come to your lesson, as long as you cancel within 2 hours, you will be eligible for the makeup lesson.
(Group Classes Only)
We have a zero makeup policy for all group lessons and band students. Any missed lessons will be forfeited and the account will not be credited.
If your teacher is absent, we will provide you with a substitute teacher. If there are no subs available, your instructor will schedule a makeup on a weekend. If your student cannot make the scheduled weekend makeup, the makeup credit will be forfeit.
INJURIES
Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on business property resulting from any activity conducted by the students before, during or after lesson time.
Photo Release
The school is hereby granted permission to take photographs and videos of the students to use in brochures, web sites, posters, social media, advertisements and other promotional materials the business creates. Permission is also hereby granted for the school to copyright such photographs in its name.
Dress/Behavior Code
All students are expected to practice good hygiene, use appropriate hygiene products, and dress appropriately for all lessons and group classes. Standard school dress codes apply.
Please also leave your pocket knives and other weapons at home, otherwise they will be confiscated and returned at the end of your lesson time.
We do not allow students to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on our property or at our events.
Students are also expected to treat our staff, instructors, and fellow students with respect. No bullying, calling names, or speaking inappropriately (while at the Rock School or at a Rock School event). We want all students to learn and grow from their lessons and each other. In return, staff and instructors will also treat students and parents the same way. We want to provide a place for all students to feel supported, safe and build their skills in a positive way. Putting each other down, whether in person, via social media or by phone is included in this behavior code and is not allowed. If there is a situation, please bring that to the attention of the instructor, general manager or owner as soon as possible. We want everyone to have the best experience possible while part of the Rock School family.
