Option #1 - Instrument Labs

We encourage all begnning music student to start out in one of our Instrument Labs. We teach guitar, drums, piano and ukulele n a lab-style class where each student gets some individualized attention from the teacher. In addition, you get the opportunity to develop life-long friendships with other students in your class. This option is for 6-12 year olds.

Option #2: Private Lessons

Many of our students choose to be in 30, 45 or 60 min private lessons because they need to have that dedicated, undivided time with the instructor. Typically we don't start private lessons until about 8 years old, but we ultimately let the parents decide. Private lessons are available for: Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano/Keyboard, Ukulele, and Voice.

Option #3: Rock Bands

Many students like to add-on a Rock Band Experience to their Instrument Lab or Private Lessons. We have three epic opportunities for performance with your band each year. We rent out some big, local venues to make sure our students get the best and most performance opportunities in North Idaho!

We aren’t training up bedroom musicians. Our whole goal is to build confidence and get students prepared to take the stage at any of our Busking for a Cause events, in house recitals or any other plethora of opportunities where students can truly have the rock star experience by performing in front of a cheering crowd. Our promise to you is that we will give you more opportunities to showcase your talents than any other music school.

OUR Annual CAlendar

Picture this: three weeks of regular lessons to hone your skills, followed by the fourth week that's anything but ordinary.

Welcome to the North Idaho Rock School's Annual Calendar – where music education meets excitement! 🎸

When you sign up for lessons at North Idaho Rock School, you're not just getting a run-of-the-mill weekly music program – you're diving into a year-long musical journey designed to ignite your passion for all genres of music.

We don't just provide music lessons, we provide a social environment where we want students to learn, grow and perform with their friends!

Here are some Specialty Weeks you'll see:

Lab Week - A small group learning environment!

Tech Week - Your chance to master the tech behind the tunes, ensuring you're not just playing music, but learning about the gear, self-promotion, etc with recording audio and video for Youtube or TikTok!

Workshop Week - It's like a crash course in all things rock, from songwriting secrets to stage presence and so much more!

Concert Week - This is the grand finale, your moment in the spotlight, showcasing everything you've learned throughout the month.

And just when you think the rock journey is over, we throw in ROCK BAND MONTH in August, culminating in an epic Concert Week that'll leave your fans (aka friends and family) cheering for an encore.

When I first signed my son up for drums with the organization, I was unsure. He was luke-warm about participating as he has some bad experiences with the school band being “boring” and having to “babysit” younger players. He really loves playing with the band.
